Angkor Wat is the main attraction for tourists and travellers wanting to go to Cambodia. An image of the temple is even on Cambodias’ national flag.
You would imagine that hundreds of thousands of tourists would damage the ancient sites around Siem Reap but the ticket cost (around $35 USD per person) helps to fund conservation efforts.
I found the guided tour to be the best way to experience three of the best temples of more than 1000 in the area.
